History
Axon Scientific is the latest venture for a group of passionate and dynamic people with extensive background in the manufacturing and distribution of life science products & services in the Asia-pacific region.
In 1998, our sister company BST Scientific Pte Ltd was formed with the aim of distributing life science related products to the research community in Singapore. As it grew and expanded its operations, there were more and more calls from the research community for better, faster and more competitively priced products.
The natural direction was to try to manufacture these products locally to serve the regional market. With this in mind, the next step of our journey took place.
In 2002, 1st BASE Pte Ltd was formed with the aim of producing oligonucleotides and providing DNA sequencing services. This grew fast and plans where quickly drawn up to have a similiar set-up in Malaysia.
In 2003, First BASE Laboratories Sdn Bhd was formed to serve the Malaysian market in the same way. This was a venture backed by VC and our Malaysian partner and it too grew quickly.
In 2006, due to growth and product diversification, another part of BST Scientific was spun off to become vCell Science Pte Ltd, a company focussing on distribution of up and coming brands and the immunology market in Singapore.
In early 2008, our sister company PT Genetika Science was launched to distribute our range of products in Indonesia.
Also in 2008, First BASE Laboratories Sdn Bhd decided to independently set out on its own and to acccompany it, Axon Scientific Sdn Bhd was formed to handle the distribution part of the business in Malaysia.
So now, with offices in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia and a network of dealers in areas in which we lack immediate coverage, together with our involvement both in distributionship and manufacturing, our reach to the scientific community is deep, and our ties with the principal manufacturers worldwide equally strong.
